Unlike kindergarten teachers, health professions educators often lack specialized qualifications in teaching. Urja- Catalysts for Transformation addresses the need for high-quality training in educational science for learners, educators, and institutions in health professions with internationally trained faculty from Europe and Asia. We strive to provide evidence-based training to leaders, faculty, and students.
What is our mission?
We aim to address the 40-year lag in India's health professions education. Despite regulatory efforts to improve quality, urgent curriculum support, faculty development, and student engagement are needed. 2. Capacity building of Institutions
Dr. Jyotsna Sriranga, as a FAIMER Fellow has been a true change agent. She has contributed emphatically to faculty development. She initiated and established a Dental education Unit, navigating the complexities of change. Her practical experience, coupled with the scientific approach to Leadership has equipped her with the necessary skills to support Institutions to navigate the high seas of change.

Dr. Jyotsna Sriranga has dedicated her career to nurturing compassionate learners. At a dental education institution, she introduced a patient safety-focused curriculum, utilizing innovative teaching methods rooted in educational theories. She has overseen numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
Dr. Sriranga's instruction spans communication skills, ethics, infection control, humanities, and social accountability. Notable programs include:
"Overcoming Exam and Failure Anxiety" - Offered online and in-person, this program, well-received by students, provided strategies for exam preparation and self-confidence enhancement.
"Developing Resilience" - This session helped students adapt to changes, addressing coping mechanisms for transitions like entering professional education, interacting with new peers, managing self-directed learning, and progressing into adulthood.
"Effective Study Techniques" - This program introduced evidence-based methods for knowledge enhancement, featuring advanced strategies such as deep learning, mind mapping, and Neuro Linguistic Programming.
